In 2012, Mochica Sumpa was born in Sta. Elena, a new space in defense of human and environmental rights.
On December 12, 2012, to commemorate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the board of directors of the Latin American Corporation for Human, Eco-environmental, Water, Land, and Air Rights was sworn in at the "City of Liberty" Auditorium of the Santa Elena Peninsula University. Earlier that day, the organization had been legally incorporated. Among the honored guests were Assemblyman Jimmy Pinoargote, columnist Enrique Rosales, Ombudsman Fátima Campos, and the Political Chief of Santa Elena, among other dignitaries, at the founding of the organization, which, according to its president, Alfonso Hernando Ortiz Cobo, was established to defend human rights and the environment in the peninsula region. Ortiz Cobo emphasized that MOCHICA SUMPA's mission is to promote this work of defending human and environmental rights among the people of the peninsula. In the middle part of the event, the February 5th Blind People's Group was presented, which during the previous 2 months and under the guidance of the teacher
Heber de Santis; they learned to play guitar and on this occasion delighted the attendees with 3 beautiful musical performances.
The presentation of the Mochica Sumpa concept and the context in which this new organization for the defense of Human and Environmental Rights was born was given by muralist and social artist, Joaquín Serrano. Mochica Sumpa's leading figures are Alfonso Ortiz Cobos and Fausto Valero, Director of Ballenita Sí Online. The Mochica Sumpa Corporation initially has committees for Culture, Environment, and Human Rights.
