Mochica Sumpa supports artisanal fishermen.

During his stay in the Province of Santa Elena, the Executive Director of the Mochica Sumpa Human, Eco-Environmental and Cultural Rights Corporation, Mr. Alfonso Ortiz Cobo, visited the fishing area in the parish of Santa Rosa, where artisanal fishermen were holding a peaceful march requesting that port authorities help and protect fishermen who are at sea, as they are constantly assaulted and harassed by pirates.

In an official statement, the Mochica Sumpa Human Rights, Eco-Environmental and Cultural Corporation requested the presence of Rear Admiral Jaime Vela, Director of Aquatic Spaces, so that he could hear firsthand about the extremely serious situation of our brothers and sisters on the peninsula who are engaged in fishing. For more than 10 years, they have been victims of piracy, which has not only caused them material losses but also the loss of invaluable human lives, leaving families destitute.
